UPK denotes User Productivity Kit and facilitates training and support for Oracle Applications in an Organization. UPK allows you to record the content (steps) being created and can be viewed later in one of the available playback modes. UPK complements Oracle Tutor functionality. Oracle Tutor allows one to develop Business Processes and Training Guides. However, it lacks any interactive feature that is essential for Learning. UPK provides the much needed recording and playback feature. UPK is available from Metalink. Like Oracle Tutor, it is released as a Patch and the current version is 2.7.2 (as of May 2007). Similar to any organized courseware, the content is categorized into Module, Lesson, and Topic. The following is an outline of the content organization ->Module Each Module has an associated Lesson - The Lesson can comprise of several Topics and outlines the series of steps required for completion. For example, creating Invoices can be a Topic and using UPK, you would capture all the steps required to enter an Invoice in the system. On completion of recording, the content can be viewed by using on of the playback modes available. One can also create keywords that helps the user to search a Topic of interest (One of the drawbacks of Tutor is the total lack of search functionality). One can also create a Glossary, which is quite useful too. {mxc}
